Hi Parents!

I normally only share information that is strictly educational but I wanted to make a slight exception this time.

I am honored to have been nominated for “The Greater Philadelphia Innovation Awards”. Please take a moment to vote for xSoTec and the other great innovators from the Philadelphia area that are up for nomination. Then, feel free to share this email with all your networks! You can find me in #5 - Education Innovation, Jay Cohen, xSoTec. Voting ends this Friday, December 18th so show your support as soon as you can. Thank you!

Also, if you want to know what I've been doing, here it is below. If you know of any school looking to build their own unique student or family technology system (e.g., Grade Book, Attendance, Behavior, Student Agency/Goals, etc..), please let me know.

I built a system for connecting hundreds of Google Spreadsheets together to create innovative student and family educational systems. The systems I build allow teachers and family members to finally have a say in how students are graded, how behavior is handled, or even how attendance works. Over the past few years, small schools around the country have been trying out my educational applications and developing systems that are truly years ahead of the rest of the country!

My company xSoTec is currently working with about a dozen or more schools around the country and it would be great to have more. That said, my ultimate goal is really to eventually use the system I've developed to build a community collaboration system so that we can better organize and solve our own local educational and community issues ourselves. I'm hoping that this award will help me do just that. I'll keep you posted! My website is www.xsotec.com.

2021 SOCIAL INNOVATION AWARDS
"ACHIEVING A MORE JUST SOCIETY"

The 2021 Greater Philadelphia Social Innovations Awards celebrates Greater Philadelphia Social Innovators. We are driven by the belief that the potential for good ideas to inspire more good ideas cannot be underestimated. We inspire leaders and organizations to dream; create spaces for leaders to tap into their own creativity to innovate; endow leaders with the tools and knowledge to launch and grow their ideas; challenge leaders to become better versions of themselves, and transforms leaders and their organizations into Changemakers.

The theme of the 2021 awards, “Achieving a More Just Society,” recognizes organic leadership re-envisioning the challenges communities face and finding solutions by innovating ideas to reshape communities through innovated programs, policies, and disrupting the political landscape to revolutionize realities to bring us all forward to a more equitable and inclusive tomorrow -- today. The 2021 awards are framed within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which are the world’s blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.

The Social Innovation Awards symbolize that the success of the social sector depends upon us embracing both tried-and-true traditional practices while stepping out of the box to grow new ideas into new innovative practices. These awards honor our region’s most passionate social innovators, entrepreneurs and changemakers whose work and social impact too often goes unacknowledged, yet their efforts are what makes our communities across Greater Philadelphia the thriving region of innovation and opportunity they are for all people.
