Hey there Philly Illy's! Hope everyone is having a successful start to
their holiday season ; ) I have created a Google Site for the group -
and just wanted to pass along the info.

http://sites.google.com/site/phillyillustratorug

There is absolutely nothing on the site at this moment, so if you have
any ideas for what sort of content or info you would like to see
please reply to this post.

I was thinking it may be cool to have a 'gallery' of our own art/
illustrations/graphics/designs etc.... just to show off. Of course we
will post news and upcoming events etc... thinking even a 'locked'
members directory as well w/ contact info. (I am pretty sure this can
be accomplished via google sites)

ALSO- Please make sure all of you register for the Creative Mega
Social on 12/3. We will have a booth presence this year (alongside
the PS UG) We would love to see everyone come out and help spread the
good word ; ) Not to mention, anybody who is anybody within the
creative community will be there...duh!

The event is free! You just have to register. Here is the link to do
so. http://www.phillycreativeguide.com/rsvp/

Lots of great raffle prizes and food and company! I am going to add
this as an Event for us on the Adobe groups page, so it would be great
to see everyone there (and tell your friends!!) Just maek sure to
rsvp, b/c even with all my super powers, I may not be able to get you
in if you just show up at the door ; )

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, see you soon!

- Jenn

Hey Gang,
This sounds like a good idea. here are a few of my suggestions .
A gallery would be cool but we could include in it, especially in a
members only section, experiments (some might call them doodles that
you might do. HMMPH). For example maybe you're screwing around with
the blob brush and you stumble on something. Save it an toss it up
here with a quick tag of what you were doing.

People could also add short tips. It doesn't have to be a long
tutorial just a quick tip that you though people might not know. An
example would be

"Hey, did you know that when using the blob tool if you press and hold
the OPT/ALT key down. It becomes the smooth tool until you let go of
the key and CMD/CTRL lets you move the shape around."

As for news, well I assume we can count on Super Jenn to keep up
informed about the latest goings on with Adobe Creative Suite but
other people can just post a link to something and a blurb about why
you posted it. I had a student recently wanted to know about the
Dreamweaver Plug in BrowserLab. I said I didn't know of it. Turns out
it is a beta test out of the Adobe Labs. http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/browserlab/

I guess the point is that you don't have to blog or tweet or call your
mother but you could drop a line.

(Art) I think all of these are good suggestions! I especially like
the tips etc.... (I LOVE keyboard shortcuts... keep 'em coming!) Ruth
and I are toying with the idea of doing a wordpress (etc) site -- so I
think we are going to hold off on using the google site for now. ; )

Also.... I am planning the first meeting - thinking lets do a fun
event on Logo design techniques. (in light of all this chatter about
the 'new' philly logo)

More details soon - but I am also thinking first week in Feb? What
you guys think?
