Hi all-
We had a great meeting last night at the lovely home of the lovely Theresa Rose. Many of you hardcore awesome people were not able to attend, so here are the next steps, and a few google docs to get on:
1. The National SceneA few of us were just in Portland, Oregon with a huge crew of people working on FEAST-like projects in cities around the country. At some point soon there will be a national web presence built to link all of these projects...in the meantime here is a list of all the of the projects currently up and running or underway and their web presences.

Would be great to look through the "mission" statements of these groups in our efforts to solidify what our communities event is about.
2. NameI just created another Google Doc as a scratchpad for brainstorming name ideas for the event. We'd like to make it our own and not just call it FEAST. Agree? Disagree? All ideas are welcome, write them down here:

Here are the top contenders right now:
- Ruba
- William Way
- German Society
- Fire Station at 12th and Reid
- PEP
- Romanian Church
We have people finalizing the details on these spaces for our next meeting. Brett Mapp also just sent a document to this list with a few more suggestions. If you have other ideas, speak now or never, and bring the following info to the next meeting:
Capacity
Tables and Chairs? How many?
Price for rental
Kitchen and or prep area information
Alcohol policy
4. Next meeting
Wednesday, June 9th, 8 - 9:30 pm. Theresa's place - 1212 Clarion Street.
This is going to be a to-the-point meeting where we will try to select the venue and name.
From picking the venue we will be able to work on the budget, and then tackle the food sourcing questions.
One other major next step is to create some publicity materials to be able to send to potential food providers. I will be spearheading this work, please email me personally if you'd like to help.
So put on your thinking caps and give us some Philly names, get on your venue research, and enjoy the heat and salad greens!
Don't hesitate to pipe in with questions and ideas as well.
Yours,
Kate
