Phew, all right, so last week was super busy for me, but I am so, so glad I was able to host our first Bakers Challenge! It was great having you all over, and I really enjoyed our discussions about the baking community in Philly (yes, with a little dirt-dishing, but we kept it respectable) and about what we do as bakers.

If anyone shares their recipe for their cupcakes online, let me know and I'll update the post I wrote with a link to the recipe (right now I'm linking out to your sites and blogs).

Now, for the NEXT Bakers Challenge:

Steph has kindly offered to host the next Challenge, which means she has the honor of selecting the secret ingredient and theme. As we get closer to the date (which we'll start to work on), Steph can share her address, any info about her home we might want to know (pets, weird neighbors, Riddle of the Sphinx doorbell), and what we can bring to help her host. Yes, I know we are all busy baking for the event, but I know it was a big help to have Steph bring her delicious lemonade and to have Melissa bring some booze and cups.

Now, for dates: We're thinking August, and I think the first 2 weeks of August would be best (and maybe that's our thing...we meetup during the 1st 2 weeks of the month). Start looking at your calendars, and Steph, can you send me a list of dates and times that work best for you for Aug. 1-17?

For now, let's stick with the Google Group. You don't actually have to come to the GG page (except to join the group), since I have it set up to email everyone, and that's a lot easier than trying to remember everyone's email address.

Any other thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

ALSO, though this should probably be a separate email, but would anyone be interested in participating in a bake sale fundraiser to help fund pediatric cancer research? I'm looking into organizing one, but the biggest challenge I think is trying to figure out when and where to have it. So, if you interested, or have any ideas on how we could do this, let me know! This doesn't have to be done this summer...the fall might be a better time, but I wanted to get some feedback now.

Cheers!
Mel
