I miss talking about baseball with my friends instead of just reading articles all the time.  How about that cliff lee?  He hit a batter!  Lol. And chase Utley is injured and domonic brown can’t get a hit. I’m worried about 2011.

hahahaha

Well, I'd agree with considering Utley in the OF, but probably left field after this season.  They would need a solid 2B first...

Actually, I was jk. I actually like Ben and Dom in the OF after this year. With Ben starting out this year in right and Dom coming on later in the year and Ben spelling all three ofs taking over for Raul next year.

Moving Utley to the OF is nothing that hasn't been talked about before.  To do it, they would need a solid RH bat, and a solid defender.

This includes the possibility of signing a solid right-handed 3B or 2B, as Polly could go back to 2B.

Well, I heard Josh Barfield did well at 2nd base the other day. If he could play 3rd, you could move him there and Polly back to 2nd or leave it Howard-Barfield-Rollins-Polanco.
Am very excited to see Ben Francisco doing well so far! I think being a regular player could be good for him!

Barfield is no prospect... he's almost my age.  He's fast, but will hit .200 on a MLB team.  He last was a MLB starter back in 2007 with the Indians and hit .243.  He also started for the Padres in 2006.

I knew Barfield wasn't a prospect but I'm thinking at least he would be somebody who could fill in for now. Unless they want to bring up Harold Garcia (who's on the 40 man roster) and see if he can handle the bigs. He was at Reading last year--I know they do jump some players from AA to MLB but not many.

Just my $.02 :)

I like Garcia... he's probably a ways away.

As much as it makes me shudder, Phils kept Bocock for a reason... he may stick around to back up Valdez and Rollins should someone go down.

I think they need to figure out who will be in Dobbs' old slot.  It's kind of risky  not having someone who can play an IF position other than 1B.  At least when they had injury issues and were stuck, you could stick Dobbs at 3B and put Polly at 2B.  I

Delwyn Young has played 8 lifetime games at 3B, though he does have 70 at 2B.  He may get first crack.

Don't forget Michael Martinez, who is going to play some shortstop today.
