With the International Day of Action on 24 October right around the corner, things are getting a little crazy for me and the rest of the 350.org crew.
As partnerships coordinator for 350.org, I spend time every day connecting to organizers and organizations all around the world. And in every e-mail and phone call I receive, I notice the same thing: an eagerness to spread the word about the climate crisis in a way that's fresh and empowering.
So today, I'm thrilled to unveil a new, high-impact presentation that you can use to bring people into the global climate movement. Check it out at www.350.org/presentation.
Giving a presentation doesn't have to feel intimidating. I remember the first time I gave a presentation about global warming -- it was 5 years ago, to a group of schoolchildren in New Hampshire, USA. It was easy to set up -- all we did was call a school, offer to come in and speak to a class about climate change, and what can be done about it.
The first step to action is education, so I'm hoping you can give this presentation in your town or city. We've made it easy for you -- on our website you'll also find an illustrated script to guide you through how to give the presentation yourself. Even if you're new to 350 or climate science, you can use the presentation as a tool to spread knowledge and engage your community.
The timing for this couldn't be better. In much of the world, early September marks the beginning of school, just 6 weeks before the International Day of Climate Action on 24 October. It's the ideal window of opportunity to engage your community in this global challenge--and the new presentation is the perfect way to involve people in day of action in October.

What is 350? 350 is the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. Scientists measure carbon dioxide in "parts per million" (ppm), so 350ppm is the number humanity needs to get below as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change. To get there, we need a different kind of PPM-a "people powered movement" that is made of of people like you in every corner of the planet.
