It's been a while since this pioneer group was active, after establishing it late 2008. Nowadays i've seen that Android in out country has been well accepted now, other local groups have been developed, companies here are looking for developers for their mobile department looking for Android Devs. I was just thinking if we can make a list of people that is a filipino working as an Android Developer here or abroad.

Even soi can see from job boards that there is still a scarce of Android Devs in our country from the employers trying to look for them.

Any thoughts ?

Sounds good. But, what is really your purpose in doing these?

Analytics - mainly for us to know how big our pool of developers in the Philippines that companies know what country to go for Android developers. And probably if ever one of our members might need a teammate for their own company they know where to go.

We should create a Masterlist of Individual Developers and Companies Developing in Android. The growth in Android Development has grown exponentially this year as compared to last year. As general comparison my company got 3 Android Developments in 2012 while just in the first quarter of 2013 we already have 7 projects in progress

That's going to be a challenge, as we speak, the list grows daily, even college kids are getting into Android development nowadays. Its getting to be more popular than iPhone app development for practical reasons.

Everyone on this group for starters would just be a very thin slice of a continuously growing Philippine Android Development pie.

Michael has been in the Android development scene for an estimation of 5 years already. So he has the position to compare it on how big Android development has grown.

I can say, it has been established yet it is still growing from where i see it. Which I am very glad of. In fact, the only thing missing for our Android Developers is to publish paid apps for themselves.

@Zsolt

It depends on the company and work exp. average is I think 30-50k. but for some companies I think its possible to get 80-100k. This is based on my experience looking at jobstreet/jobsdb available android jobs.

@mikedroid

Are you still doing the list? Hey count me in. Im an android app developer for 2yrs and 7months now.
