John Tlumacki of The Boston Globe will present his coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing at the next Photo Night at the Pen and Pencil Club, Tuesday, April 29 at 8 p.m.
John Tlumacki’s work was among thephotography cited when the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting was award to the staff of The Boston Globe. Tlumacki was also an individual Pulitzer finalist for Breaking News Photography this year, was named the National Press Photographers Association’s 2014 Photojournalist of the Year, and one of his marathon bombing photos was honored by The World Press Photo Competition.
Tlumacki has been a staff photographer for the Globe since 1981. He was photographing runners at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon when the first of two bombs exploded 50 feet from him. His photographs of those moments appeared around the world.
