Dear Friends,
I want to invite you to two upcoming concerts I will be playing in the
area. Both are free and both feature Swedish Folk Music. I will share
music I love and learned growing up in Sweden, first on the
traditional fiddle and then a special hommage to an instrument newer
to the tradition; the violin's deeper cousin viola. The Viola Fest! is
hosted by our friend Elizabeth and Mout Airy Violins and Bows, who has
helped us with the dance location so come show your support. Hope to
see you all there!

FIDDLE CONCERT
Sunday October 25th at 10.45am-11.15am
Allen's Lane Train Station
I will play a set to help celebrate the 1st birthday of my favorite
coffeshop: High Point Café at Allen's Lane Train Station.
There will be a BBQ and other musicians playing all day long, and of
course their fabulous coffee and pastries. Sounds like a great
neighborhood party!
VIOLA CONCERT
Saturday November 7th at 3pm
St. Michael’s Church, 6671 Germantown Ave
Viola Fest! - Mount Airy Violins & Bows hosts a full day event to
honor the viola. I will share a folk music tradition that incorporates
this great instrument. After the concert there will be a jam session
so bring your instruments!
If you didn't know about Mount Airy Violins and Bows you should check
it out. Elizabeth is a very talented bow maker who happens to live and
work in our community. You can rent children's violins, repair bows
and violins, or try some of her signature bows, along with other
excellent instruments. Or you can just come in to see the craft of bow
making, which is fascinating. Here is the full program for Viola Fest:
