"But we have this treasure in
earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power
will be of God and not from ourselves" - 2 Corinthians
4:7
Earthen vessels, jars of clay, ceramic pots. So often filled with
distractions, misguidance, confusion, and pain. And yet vessels,
jars, and pots that are the object of the Father's particular
choice. A choice not brought on by sudden extremity or desperate
need. But rather a choice of predetermined planning and predestined
effect.
The world so often sees in us only clay, dust, at best fired mud.
But to be chosen by Him makes us the most priceless vases in His
collection.
Ephesians 1:4 will be the center of our worship thought at
Philadelphia this week. But wherever you find yourself, wherever
the providence of God leads you, I pray that you and I will
recognize the value in ourselves that the Father has seen in us from
before the "foundation of the world."
Blessings, in Christ,
Glenn
