HOW DO WE STOP THE VIOLENCE?

 

 

September 26, 2010 – 2 to 4 P.M.

Free Library of Philadelphia, 1901 Vine St.

Skyline Room, 4th Floor

 

 

 

A panel of speakers will share their organization’s experiences with violence in the community. They will tell how they are dealing with it and what they think are the causes of violence. They will share their ideas on what is needed to stop the violence.

Some of the panel speakers are Dorothy Johnson-Speight, Mothers In Charge;

Rev. Isaac Miller, former pastor of Church of the Advocate; Elisabeth Leonard, United For Peace and Justice Delaware Network; Kavita Goyal, Education Not Incarceration; Michael Coard, Attorney-at law. A discussion will follow the presentation.

The Philadelphia Area Black Radical Congress (PABRC) will host a forum- “Peace in the Communities, Peace in the World, How do we stop the violence?” It will take place on Sunday, September 26, 2010 – 2 to 4 P.M. at the Free Library of Philadelphia, 1901 Vine Street, Skyline Room.

 

A panel of speakers will address the topic. Each speaker will talk about his/her organization’s experience with violence in the community, how it was dealt with, what the speaker thinks causes the violence and what is needed to be done in order to stop and prevent violence in the future.

 

Some confirmed panel speakers are Dorothy Johnson-Speight, Mothers In Charge; Rev. Isaac Miller, former pastor Church of the Advocate;       

Elisabeth Leonard, United For Peace and Justice Delaware Valley Network; Kavita Goyal, Education Not Incarcerated; Michael Coard, Attorney-at-law.
