Hi Everyone,

Jijo Sevilla and I were looking at the possibility of doing a small
developers / tech community get together, nothing special, nothing
big, just a simple get together were we can gather around and talk
about our war stories and nuggets of information we can share with
each other (without violating our NDA's ;-) ). The point of the get
together is simple: meet and greet the people who are in the
Philippine (specifically, Makati/Manila) developer scene, who either
work on open source or don't, and who'd like to get in touch with
others in the field.

We are not confining this get together to people of the same
programming languages / interests, but generally if you're working in
the IT industry -- may you be a developer, administrator, enthusiast,
whatnot -- and would like to get to know other people who also work in
the industry, it would be a nice 'thing' to go to.

Naturally though, there will be natural clustering of people and
interests -- those that work with C++, Java, Linux, Windows, etc. --
but the spirit of this get together is to be able to talk about and
share about things we do in the IT industry, some of which more
specific to certain areas (development, programming, architecture,
etc.) and others more general (platform differences, deployment
techniques, etc.).

I personally would like to know who among the people subscribed to the
list will be interested in this get together, and what your
preferences / availability are as far as events go. For example, would
you be alright with meeting in a cafe' somewhere in Makati on a
weeknight? Or would Saturday afternoons generally be better?

I definitely would like to get your thoughts on this matter.

Have a great day everyone!
