Done through day 16.  Operating on a one day delay right now, but with the "off" day later this week should be able to catch up no problem and still scheduled to finish on time.  First 3 days were the hardest, no question, but the workouts have become much easier on the 2nd/3rd go around.  I know month 2 is supposed to be much harder but meh, worry about that when it gets here.

Jack you still going?  what day are you on?

Nah I've completely fallen off the bandwagon.

I'm drinking a BLL at the pool right now -- can't see myself picking this back up until next week at the earliest.

On Sat I did my first sub-zero run with my run group which I think puts me into a whole new bin of crazy. We went out for 2 hours with the temps between -3 and 0 which was 2 hours more than I wanted to spend outside that day, but I couldn't seem like a total wuss in front of the natives and back out.

It was straight out of a movie with everyone's hair, beards and eyelashes covered in ice; at one point my eyelid actually froze shut when I blinked and my fleece neck warmer turned into a plastic collar. We even put bunch of anti-frostbite cream on our skin before we went out which should have been a really good indication that we shouldn't have gone outside (I think the intent of that product is for people who don't have a choice).

Dude -- that's what treadmills are for!  Or, not living in the Tundra.  78 and sunny here in Texas today.

Didn't really have a choice, as I said my only options were go outside or look like a huge weeping axe wound. It's pretty hard to chump out when 60 year old semi-cut dudes and 25 year old, little girls aren't.

I woulda chumped out in a second.

At Chip:  Not moving to Manhattan, was considering working there for one-month, but never good figure out a good short-term rental option.

My guess?  You were way too stringent with your housing requirements

I do love the mid-westerners with regards to running though. This ain't some yuppy town where everyone is all "geared up" form head to toe with the latest Nike and Lululemon products. Especially the old dudes, who just throw on their Russel athletic sweatpants, those hoodless dad sweatshirts with the thick shoulders and some mittens and don't complain about shit.

I am a currently a level 2 yuppy with a bunch of Nike gear, but aspire to one day run in a Bill Belichick'd Champion hoodie.

How you poppas doing? I really want to get back on this train so I can stop being weak like little girl, but my aspirations of being super cut are always in conflict with my overwhelming fear of how bad Shaun T kicked my ass.

I've actually been doing it for the past week.  Need to get cut for Myrtle so I don't look like a joey

I am definitely worried about looking like a joey in front of Ted. That guy is a bad ass and I bet he has a slammin' hot wife, a boat and an entertainment center with a whole of CDs and laserdiscs.

I've actually started running to work in the morning.  It's less than 3 miles in a straight line, but I cross the running trial and add a bit.  About 4.5 miles, with a backpack on (maybe 8 lbs or so).  Much better than your pansy "insanity" workouts, or running when is  -20 outside.

(But seriously, P90x was hard, so I assume Insanity is hard too).

Do you have a shower at work?  I always want to run to work, but I would be all sweaty.

Jack do any of the Insanity workouts have little to no jumping?

I am back on the bootcamp bandwagon as of this morning. 6AM dark and cold sucks. I cannot wait for longer days and warmer weather.

Insanity update: yup i've been sticking to it.  the first month is fun, pretty easy and doesn't take too much time.  second month is borderline hell.  For the second month workouts increase from 30 min -> 60 min and sometimes have twoadays.  absolutely brutal.  I'm running about 3 days behind the program so have 2 full weeks and some change left, can't wait for it to be over.

results thus far have been okay, not drastic.  probably since i didn't change my diet whatsoever

Ran a 5k yesterday and it was the first time I exercised in about 2 months so it was pretty rough. It was also cold as balls, although not Minnesota nutcase cold. Managed to keep it under 27 minutes, but I've been hurting today as a result. Gotta get back into a routine, especially with bikini season right around the corner.

Not working out was probably 20% schedule, 20% sickness, and 60% laziness. I originally got thrown off the week before we went to Disney World trying to finish everything I needed to get wrapped up, then almost immediately after we got home our whole house came down with the flu. Once I got better it had been 3 or 4 weeks and I haven't been able to motivate myself since. I have the gym penciled back in for Wednesday morning so hopefully I can drag my enormous gelatinous ass out of bed and start tossing dumbbells like Stanoch tosses salads*.

*with salad tongs, I'm guessing. Maybe two big wooden forks or spoons?
