END. Experience with Rich Internet Applications using Ajax/AHAH and
Flash are required.

Job Title: Solution Architect – Front End Focus - FTE
Salary: 120-150k
Positions: 1

Overview:
The primary focus of the Solution Architect is to partner with the
GSI’s senior level account management teams and provide technical
solutions for client and prospect needs while maintaining the
technical integrity of the GSI enterprise. This role focuses
specifically on Front End Architecture. The Solution Architect will
directly participate in client and prospect meetings. The Solution
Architect will be expected to interactively come up with technical
strategies that meet client needs and are consistent with GSI platform
capabilities. The Solution Architect will be involved in the
estimation, planning, analysis, design, and implementation of the
various projects that result from these client interactions.

Qualifications:
Technology
Experience with Rich Internet Application using AJAX/AHAH and Flash
Experience building/integrating with Web content management systems
Extensive experience building and architecting high traffic internet
sites serving 10-100 million+ requests per day or similar high
transaction volume distributed systems
5+ years experience development experience with Java concentrating on
server-side development
Extensive experience implementing complex system integrations
utilizing messaging and HTTP
Experience architecting highly-available, failure resistant/tolerant
internet scale systems
Leadership – Ability to think strategically. Ability to create and
promote guiding development principles, and influence prospects,
clients, and business management in adopting technically sound
solutions to their business problems.
Communication – Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and process
facilitation skills.
Accessibility - Ability to work with both business and technical
representatives at all levels.
Decision-Making – Ability to make informed balanced decisions in a
timely manner. Must be able to think on his/her feet!
Time Management – Ability to manage many initiatives at the same time,
and exercise judgment on the most appropriate areas of focus.
Business – A thorough understanding how technology decisions impact
the GSI business as a whole.
Travel – Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in developing event-driven and service-oriented
architectures
Experience with web services, specifically security and identity
management
Experience with various enterprise messaging technologies
Experience with Enterprise Service Bus solutions
Experience in e-commerce.
Experience with commercial supply chain, trading partner, warehouse,
logistics management, marketing, and/or customer relationship
management (CRM) software.
Experience with Oracle, JDA, E.piphany, Red Prairie, WebLogic

Candidate must be focused on the Web User Interface
Will need top be proficient with HTML / FLASH / FLEX
Candidate must have experience with high traffic internet sites
Volume of 10 Mil to 100 Mil requests per day or the equivalent
experience
Candidate should have awareness of back end integration experience
This is not a large part of the role
Candidate must be able to focus on UI technologies and have some
server side technical experience
Candidate must have experience as a lead Architect
Candidate must have experience with client facing
Candidate must have experience with seeing the project through to
completion
The “Estimation” requirements will be much lighter than the typical
Solutions Architect position however Estimations will still be
involved
This will report to the True Action group and will need the maturity
to communicate with a variety of creative skill sets and personalities

Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities
Support client and prospect meetings. Present current baseline
technical capabilities of GSI’s platform to clients, and actively
participate with defining technical approaches to solving client’s
business needs.
Produce system solutions and architectural designs to meet identified
business requirements. Solutions must incorporate scalability,
availability, security, and maintainability characteristics. Risks,
assumptions, and costs for solutions must be articulated.
Review and approve detailed technical designs produced by technical
leads on projects.
Participate in code reviews.
Mentor IT organization on adherence to design and architecture
guidelines.
Identify, evaluate and formally recommend third party software and
technology packages and services as needed.
Actively participate in the implementation of pilots of new software
applications and infrastructure.
On occasion, assist in production escalations and problem resolution.
Leadership Responsibilities
Promote technical vision and sound engineering principles among
technology department staff members.
Technically govern large scale technical projects
Propose changes in process, policy, and standards as they relate to
the architecture and design principles
Assist management in the prioritization of infrastructure development
projects.
Actively participate in the recruiting process.
Identify training/conferences that will assist in developing necessary
skills for technical staff, as well as promoting an understanding of
GSI’s technical vision.
