Dear PheWeb-UMich Research Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I seek your assistance regarding an issue I encountered while accessing summary statistics through the PheWeb-UKB-SAIGE portal (https://pheweb.org/UKB-SAIGE/).

Specifically, I am unsure how to map Phecode to its corresponding ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes. For instance, when I search for “Cholelithiasis,” the portal displays the Phecode (574.1). However, the corresponding ICD-9/ICD-10 codes are not referenced.

As these ICD codes are critical for my analysis, I would greatly appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue. Could you advise on how to identify the ICD-9/ICD-10 codes associated with a specific Phecode in this portal?

Thank you in advance for your time and support. I look forward to your insights.

Best regards,

Liaoming

Thanks for your interest in PheWeb.

For the PheWebs displaying GWASs for PheCodes in the UK Biobank, ICD codes were mapped to PheCodes using a published scheme (https://academic.oup.com/bioinformatics/article/30/16/2375/2748157). Please refer to the section "Phenotype definitions in UK Biobank" in the SAIGE paper (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6119127/), which was the tool used to run the GWASs for the UK Biobank PheWebs.

Hope this helps!

Sarah
