The 5th LafargeHolcim Awards for Sustainable Construction
The LafargeHolcim Awards is the most significant global competition in sustainable design. Organized by the LafargeHolcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction, the competition identifies ideas with the highest potential to tackle today’s challenges to increasing urbanization and to improve quality of life.
Objective
Into its fifth edition, the prestigious global competition seeks projects that go beyond balancing environmental performance, social responsibility, and economic growth to exemplify architectural excellence, a high degree of transferability, and thereby extend notions of sustainable construction throughout all stages of a project’s lifecycle.
The competition is open for projects in architecture, building and civil engineering, landscape and urban design, materials, products and construction technologies that contribute to the five “target issues” for sustainable construction.
Eligibility
Students across all engineering departments and across all years(UGs and PGs) are eligible for this

Orientation
ACC Cements is one of the leading construction technology giants in the country and primary sponsors of the competition. As a part of the awards outreach, representatives from ACC Cements shall be in campus on the 2nd March, 2017 to present a short primer on the competition and all its details.
