Greetings everyone!
We hope this mail finds you well.
We’d like to thank the student body for a great response and lots of love for the website and existing initiatives of the magazine. Now, Fiddler on the Flag Road seeks to expand its mandate. We believe that the student magazine should not only publish articles and pieces submitted by students, but also report on current activities ongoing at the college and amongst the student body. Therefore, the magazine intends to publish a column of reportage pieces on future events and activities organised at the university. The column would report on the noteworthy happenings at the event, and highlight lesser-known aspects of the activity, all in a witty and humorous manner.
At present, we are inviting reports about the next upcoming university event, the 11th NALSAR Inter-Varsity debate competition to be held from the 18th-19th of September. Interested students may send a report on the event in around 800 words. The 2 most interesting pieces selected by the editorial board would be published on the magazine’s website, and bi-annual edition.
Permanent positions:
Further, we are inviting applications for 4 permanent reporting positions with the magazine for all future events. The term of reporters will be coextensive with that of the current Editorial Board. The selection would be done from amongst the pieces submitted about the NALSAR IV debate, and authors of the 4 best pieces would be invited to join as permanent reporters.
Please note that the selection of permanent reporters does not preclude other students from sending in reports about future events. They would also be considered for potential publication at par with the pieces submitted by the permanent reporters. The selection of permanent reporters is being done to ensure consistent coverage of events.
Interested students may send their pieces to maga...@nalsar.ac.in with the subject “NALSAR IV report”, along with their name and batch by 22nd September (Wednesday). Please send any queries on this thread.
Hoping for a great response
Warm regards,
Mrityunjoy and Ayushi
