I hope this email finds you well. This is to bring to your kind notice that the NALSAR Lecture Series on Constitutionalism shall be hosting Prof. Tarunabh Khaitan for a discussion on 'Moderated Parliamentarianism' on September 8 (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m..
As per his profile on the website of the University of Oxford, Prof. Khaitan
is the Head of Research at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights & the Professor of Public Law and Legal Theory at the Faculty of Law (Oxford). He is also a Professor & Future Fellow at Melbourne Law School, working on a project on the resilience of democratic constitutions, with a focus on South Asia. He specialises in legal theory, constitutional studies, and discrimination law. He is also the founding General Editor of the Indian Law Review.
The format for this session is somewhat different from our routine lectures, in as much as Prof. Khaitan has requested that his paper titled 'Balancing Accountability and Effectiveness: A Case for Moderated Parliamentarianism' be the basis of the discussion, and a live Q&A with the author.
As this is a paper-based discussion, kindly see attached the paper with this email, which is being circulated in advance to enable the prospective audience to read the same for a more meaningful engagement with the speaker.
The discussion has been scheduled for September 8, Wednesday, at 6:00 p.m., and the meeting can be joined from the following link:
