(My apologies if you get this email twice. My distribution lists are acting up today.)
Greetings,
These pertain to the local Chicago market but might spur you into looking for the same in your area.

Vibe It demo at
myvibeit.com/demovideoMy thought for DIY Music is to attach Vibe It to rattly or tuned resonators and drive them with your voice possibly picking the resultant output back up piezo contact mics for further processing. The result would act as a poor mans electro-acoustic kind of vocoder. Hmmm...a Vibe It driven membrane type didgeridoo? Or a Vibe It driven steel garbage can lid with loose rivets similar to a sizzle type cymbal?
Item 2. For circuit benders the Half-Price Books in
Countryside Plaza, Countryside, IL 60525, on La Grange Rd. just North of Joliet Rd. has two apple crates, one full of Guitar Hero guitars, one full of PSP style controllers, selling for $2 to $4.99 each depending on condition. Input controllers anyone? This location also has plastic bongos of unknown application with a USB connector cord from time time for around $5 each. The bongos' "heads" are hard plastic and not acoustic be any means. If you go the crates were in the back by the washrooms and the bongos are on top the bookcase by the junk software section. I've also seen kids electronic noisy stuff as well including a genuine Speak N' Spell which they actually had in a locked display case! I'd suggest those outside of the Chicago area check out their local HPB for similar bendable items.
