Pharo 8.0 + Windows 10 problem running VM. 7.0 and 9.0 are OK

I have a problem running Pharo 8.0 (32-bit or 64-bit) in Windows 10 64-bit.

Does not matter if I'm using PharoLauncher or trying to start the VM directly I get an error. Either "This app can't run on your PC" or from the launcher it's actually more instructive, it says "Unsupported 16-bit Application". I'm using Pharo 8.0 (stable).

I have no problem running Pharo 7.0 (64-bit) and there is no such issue if I start up the Pharo 7.0 VM and then load the Pharo 8.0 image. Oddly Pharo 9.0 (64-bit development) has no issue either and Squeak 5.3 runs fine too.

Is there something new that needs to be configured for Pharo 8.0 on Windows? Or is this a known issue? I did not find anything mentioned.
