Yes, but to give helpful feedback it would help if you could be more specific about what you’re trying to do here.

One thing you can do is to use a fixed binary potential instead of `live’ sink particles. This is described in the phantom code paper and is what is done in the “planetdisc” setup (make SETUP=planetdisc setup; ./phantomsetup disc). That way the mass and orbit of the binary are fixed and do not get affected by accretion, gravity etc. Is that what you’re trying to do?

Only 3D. 2D would require some major code changes and isn’t part of our use cases. For running 2D test problems we usually just run them in a thin 3D box. For example, you could take a look at some of the “2D” magnetic field test problems in the Phantom paper.
