Hi James,

This is just because your Fortran compiler is too old - the newunit= thing is a Fortran 2008 feature. So best just to install an updated copy of gfortran using your package manager (usually it is part of gcc).

Or even better, get a copy of ifort (intel fortran) on a student licence.
