As usual, the spring overwhelment season is in full swing round these parts. 

- I'm playing a few shows this weekend as Bromp Treb, including the Pushing A Brain Uphill Fest in Burlington, VT, another sweet one-off with some pals in Montreal, as well as round these parts at The Brick House in TF and Cold Spring Hollow in Belchertown. screening of Abraham Ravett's newest Holding Hands with Ilse (2017, 93 min)

Introduction by Pooja Rangan, English in Film and Media Studies of Amherst College. Director will be Present

A film about the search for the German teenage girl who took care of the filmmaker between 1948-1950 in Walbrzch, Poland where he was born. Knowing only her first name and circulating a small photograph taken in 1950 of the two, the director explores the urban landscapes of western Poland and the journey involved in their unexpected reunion that recently took place in Ibbenburen, Germany. Valley Premiere.

- Thurs April 20 at Gateway City Arts, Holyoke:
Bonnie Kane's Thursday Experiment series continues with its fourth installment, percussion surgeon Matt Weston and electroacoustic shapeshifter Vic Rawlings will do sets as well as an open session, for those eager and inspired. $5. 

- Sat May 6 at SCDT Northampton HUT X series with DC-based multidirectional improviser for bass and electronics Luke Stewart as well as poetry by Caliph Ali, and dance by Cori Orlinghouse. These shows have been selling out, so get there early!

- Fri May 12 at the Arts Block in G-field, LEE SCRATCH PERRY. i had the pleasure of seeing him and this band (which includes Larry MacDonald rad percussionist for OSR Tapes sessions with Hartley C. White and Ruth Garbus) seriously he's the masterfreak, really the weirdest music i've seen live and thought i'd see him again in the same year, but in wmass no less?! heavy futuristic mutations and brilliant trance throb.
