Heyall, as promised, here's that reminder for an awesome event on Sunday (tomorrow) night. As mi amici napolitanos have safely arrived in NYC lastnight, please note the updated details/stats about these fine artists.
Also, below this are some more updates about other rad weirdo art events all happening around wmass over the next couple days, and if that's not enough, a couple more chances to catch Bromp Treb in the area before the year ends. Aspec(t) featuring the ornate electroacoustic acrobatics of Mimmo SEC_ Napolitano and Mario Gabola from Naples, Italy. "Appreciated for their original mix of electro-acoustic detailed improvisation and power electronics/noise visceral attitude, they have played all around Europe and organized hundreds of concerts in their home city. SEC_ plays reel-to-reel tape machine to manipulate sound of different sources and to generate and control feedbacks; Mario Gabola plays his self-built photosensitive system that interacts with no-input feedback mixing board and with sax. The result is a fascinating and inextricable forest of sounds: frenetic structures, twisted rhythmes, noise explosions, ancestral cries, an unceasing perversion of the soundscape and the time stream. As a duo they have released one LP, three CD’s (two of which in collaboration with swiss composer/performer Dave Phillips and polish drummer Andrzej Zaleski) and various CDr and cassettes. Together or separately they have collaborated with musicians like Jeorme Noetinger, Dave Phillips, Arnaud Riviere, Andy Guhl, Rudolf Eb.er, Agostino Di Scipio, Olivier Di Placido, Dario Sanfilippo, Scott Sinclair, Andy Bolus, Jean Philippe Gross, C_C and many others."
Pod Blotz is Suzy Poling, Los Angeles' finest crafter of shattered light and sound refractions and otherworldly crystalline audiovisuals."Pod Blotz mixes electronics, modular synth recordings, vox, rhythmic elements, tape manipulation, metals, field recordings and organ swells. Industrial music dark in context, bright in texture inside of multi-dimensional environments with shattered mirrors, sculptures, video and light.
Doors at 8, first act is on promptly at 8:30 and going til we end before midnight. Space is all ages and sub free, imbibables are plentiful everywhere, so pregame elsewhere if ya need to. John Doe Jr, can be opened for those of you thirsting for vinyl and paper.
Phantom Erratics are unfunded independent events, organized and executed on donated space, labor, and resources. All proceeds are going to the performing artists, who are coming here from great distances without grants or outside support to do what they do for you. Immense gratitude to Maria, Scott, Fafnir, and Julie all for donating space, time, energy, and accommodations for these traveling artists.
