Flabbergasted by the profusion top notch art/cinema/sound stuff sprouting round here of late. 

Two things high on my list to check out this weekend: 

Friday at Feeding Tube, Matt Krefting churns a pot of thoughts for the congregation.

Please be on the lookout for the concerted efforts of considered programming from the X (Uknown Quantity), Bellweather, Drawn Together series' and fests all happening at Amherst Cinema. There's been a bunch of great screenings at the schools, but wow, I've really been psyched about all of this in their comfy seats. 

In addition, I recommend that you dig around for some off-the-grid screenings and events from the likes of A Good Night's Sleep (a secret-ish microcinema in northampton) as well as a re-emerged Gladtree Idea Workshops, now emitting from the new intimate zone at Feeding Tube Records in Florence. I know there's a few other house-type shows going on these days, but I cannot keep up with all of it!

The Rozz Tox collective have been curating a monthly rotation of art in the gallery at Feeding Tube - all with a particularly refreshing dose of seriousness to presenting weird good art. From thematic snacks for the openings as well as commemorative short-run catalogs of every show, which include full color reproductions and artist interviews, they've stepped up the game considerably in our valley. Fafnir will have work up there in May. 

I'm also quite excited about this new series called HUT at the School for Contemporary Dance and Thought in Northampton. It usually features 3 performing artists who work in disparate forms, such as sound, writing, movement and is in a lovely massive old Masonic dancehall. The next one is in April:
