This one's a doozy. Extra dense with talent, so dig in deep and try to catch the whole lineup.
Among many of Hudson-Valley-based engineer-artist Jen Kutler's designs is the Line - "a handmade synthesizer made from a modified vibrator," which is controlled and amplified "while Line is inside of the performer's body." Sounds are "transduced and amplified through an electromagnetic guitar pickup just barely touching the skin on the performer's abdomen." NYC-based artist Miatta Kawinzi known for her installations and sculpture with video, objects and words, has more recently been producing sounds and performance. Area composer and multichannel electroacoustic whiz Yvette Janine Jackson will be presenting some new work for synthesizer. HSFB is the project of Hudson based master electrician and Blasser Fellow of esoteric organic synthesis Maximillian Hamel. Cube (aka Adam Keith) from Oakland will be closing the night with his lo-fi brand of dancefloor-friendly murky industrial opacity.
