Anirudh has been associated with Nelson since his directorial debut Kolamaavu Kokila (2018). The film also marked his third collaboration with Rajinikanth following Petta (2019) and Darbar (2020).[1] He described the film's soundtrack as a "blend of mass appeal and emotional depth" with most of the themes and songs were composed with the fans mind, whereas the song "Kaavaalaa" was curated for younger audiences and female listeners, and "Rathamaarey" was composed in order to connect with families across all demographics.[2]

Anirudh revealed that he did meet Shilpa Rao for recording one of the tracks in Jawan, as per Shah Rukh Khan's suggestion as she had earlier performed "Besharam Rang" in Pathaan. Simultaneously, he started recording the track "Kaavaalaa" and he had felt Rao's vocals were apt for the song. This was Rao's first Tamil song after a decade, after performing "Oru Maalai Neram" from Naan Mahaan Alla (2010).[3] She rehearsed performing the lyrics for two days and sang the track within two hours. Nelson further suggested Arunraja Kamaraj to write the lyrics as he did not know Telugu and experimented on how a person who was unfamiliar on Telugu language, would write a Telugu song.[4][5]

Anirudh's classmate Super Subu, who had been a fan of Rajinikanth, contributed two of the tracks in the album. Since Nelson and the studio executives suggested Subu's contribution to the soundtrack, Anirudh roped him to write the song "Hukum" which he finished within two hours.[6]

Asa originally wrote Jailer during her time at the prestigious Peter King School of Music in Lagos, Nigeria. Inspired by her own experiences and observations of social and political injustices, she crafted a song that speaks to the universal desire for freedom and expression. Serving as both a personal and societal anthem, Jailer resonates with people from all walks of life.

Asa drew inspiration from her personal experiences and the observation of social and political injustices prevalent in society. She wanted to create a song that would resonate with people and encourage them to introspect their own lives.

The song essentially conveys a message of liberation and questioning the constraints imposed by society, politics, and oneself. It encourages listeners to break free from oppression and find their own voice.

Now, a fan has decided to give the song a twist. They set Shakira's song Waka Waka as the background music to Tamannaah's music video. Sharing the clip on Twitter, the fan wrote, "Indian Shakira @shakira Semma (awesome) Sync @tamannaahspeaks." Responding to it, Tamannaah wrote, "Have to admit the sync is pretty good (wink face emoji)."

Reacting to the post, a fan wrote, "Indian Shakira is a great name too!!" A Twitter user said, "Ya it is looking like you are dancing to the 'This time for Africa' song of Shakira. You are our Indian Shakira." "Wow this is fantastic," read a comment. "Looking so bubbly," commented another person. "Song of 2023! To be remembered for some more years," read a tweet. Suzuki, clad in a white shirt, blue trousers, and a blue blazer, tries to recreate the Rajinikanth magic by grooving to the lively song penned by Arunraja Kamaraj and music scored by Anirudh Ravichander, along with a group of Japanese dancers, notable among them is YouTuber Mayo San, who is popular among Indians.

The gorgeous Tamannaah Bhatia was seen turning up the heat at the launch of the Hindi version of Kaavaalaa, a song from trailer. The actress opted for a tight white corset top that put her curves on display. Tamannaah styled the corset top with a pair of grey pants and completed her look with a pair of golden colour shoes, few rings and minimalistic accessories. The video of the actress was shared by popular Bollywood paparazzi on Instagram. In the viral video, she was seen interacting with the photographer and posing for the cameras.

The first song from Jailer, the actress was seen bringing the house down with her dance moves. It went viral instantly with many sharing reels replicating her dance moves. Sung by Shilpa Rao and Anirudh Ravichander, the song was written by Arunraja Kamaraj. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film sees Rajinikanth play the role of Jailer Muthvel Pandian. It is expected to be an action-packed entertainer. The audio launch is ready to take place on July 28 in Chennai. The event will be attended by Rajinikanth and the cast of the movie.

On the whole, Jailer is a soundtrack that is not upto the best of Anirudh, but still works well thanks to the high-voltage elevation themes that he brings in. The songs shine in their own ways, and are sure to work with the movie. Jailer Songs Review by Siddarth Srinivas

With lyrics written by Arunraja Kamaraj, the song has vocals by Shilpa Rao and Anirudh, dance choreography by Jani, and costumes designed by Pallavi Singh. Tamannaah Bhatia, the female lead of the movie, is the frontrunner of the song and the video also shows her shaking a leg with Rajinikanth himself in a colourful set with tribal aesthetics.

But, what stands out about these viral dance numbers are the lyrics. Usually, the songs are often sung in a mish-mash of languages leaving the listener foxed. What do these lyrics really mean? A question to which there is no answer.
