Description of Job Duties:
The client’s Treasury and Financial Systems Applications section, is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Developer (Level 2) with strong hands-on expertise in cloud-native development using AWS services. This position focuses on advanced AWS engineering, including serverless development, microservices, cloud architecture, CI/CD automation, and enterprise DevOps support. Candidates must hold an AWS Developer certification and demonstrate extensive experience building scalable, secure, and cost‑effective AWS solutions.
Although Treasury applications operate primarily within a PeopleSoft financial environment, this role is dedicated to AWS cloud engineering. PeopleSoft experience is optional and considered a nice-to-have only.
The selected contractor will perform advanced development work as part of Treasury product teams, collaborating with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to deliver AWS solutions aligned with CLIENT’S’s cloud strategy. This role requires deep hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, serverless architecture, and full-stack application development in a large enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services
· Implement serverless architectures using services such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudFormation
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and cost-effective solutions
· Develop and implement cloud migration strategies for existing applications
· Build and integrate APIs with internal systems and third-party platforms
· Develop reusable, scalable, and high-quality code
· Perform code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization
· Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS and enterprise DevOps tools
· Configure and support Dev, Test, and Production environments in coordination with infrastructure teams
· Ensure compliance with CLIENT’S security standards and industry best practices
· Conduct unit testing, system testing, and deployment activities
· Support Agile/Scrum delivery processes and participate in sprint ceremonies
· Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to team members
· Participate in on-call support as required

Candidate Skills and Qualifications:
· Must have possessed AWS Certified Developer/Solution Architect certification.
· Must have hands-on experience designing available, cost-efficient, fault tolerant, and scalable distributed systems on AWS; experience using variety of AWS services.
· Full cycle implementation experience in developing web applications from scratch with micro-service architecture including various architecture patterns such as event driven model, messaging queue etc.
· Strong hands experience and In-depth knowledge of key AWS Services like CloudFront, EC2, CloudFormation, Lamda, S3, Route53, AWS CDK, SNS & SQS.
· Must be able to work with relational databases including AWS offered database and Oracle. Must be able to write and troubleshoot complex queries.
· Must have hands-on-experience in developing applications in one or more language stacks including Python, JavaScript, React JS, Node JS.
· Must have hands on experience in developing applications using Mongo-DB
· Must be able to work with DevOps pipeline using Git/Bit Bucket, Jenkins, MS Build including AWS DevOps technologies
· Must have experience in implementing proper security and authenticating structure using CLIENT’S’s approved security methods, Knowledge of OKTA and ForgeRock
· Familiarity with PeopleSoft environments is beneficial but not necessarily
· Must possess knowledge of software development methodologies Agile Scrum
· Must possess problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task with readiness to put in extra efforts when necessary
