PLDT Weroam

I just learned that I cannot buy a SIM card separately for my aircard
with my PLDT Weroam - if I want a new SIM card I must buy the aircard
again.

Have anyone else heard of this?

This is like saying that if you want a new SIM card for your cell
phone, you need to buy a new cell phone - or that if you want a certain
program you must buy a new computer with that company.

I find this quite outrageous, and in my opinion even illegal.

Is there any alternative to the PLDT Weroam in the Philippines?

When I bought the aircard I was told that the SIM card expires after
three months of no use but that I can buy a new SIM card for PHP 500. I
traveled quite extensively and happened to lose my SIM card - and now I
am told that I cannot buy a new SIM card without buying as well a new
aircard for PHP 10,000+, even though my current aircard still works
perfectly (supposedly I am supposed to just throw it away?). A new load
would cost just a few pesos, but now I must again buy an aircard that I
already purchased for 10,000+

What other people think of this? And again, what would be an
alternative to what I consider a scam on the part of PLDT?
