Tamil Nadu has emerged as a manufacturing power house in the country. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the 6th Edition of TN Manufacturing Summit with the theme on Make in India- Destination Tamilnadu at 0900 Hrs on 4 March 2015 at Hotel Hilton, Chennai. The key thrust of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme is focused on cutting down in delays in manufacturing projects clearance, develop adequate infrastructure and make it easier for companies to do business in India. These strategic initiatives are directly linked to the manufacturing sector and they will also form the core focus area of this event.

 

Objective:

To prepare the Industry for the future needs & challenges by bringing all key stakeholders (policy makers, industry players, educational / skill development institutes) together under one roof.

Sessions:

·         Tamil Nadu Ecosystems

This session will focus on Madurai -- Tuticorin corridor, Potential in the 2nd and 3rd tier cities and towns of TN, Special initiatives to boost investments (aerospace, defense etc), Building the local ecosystem -- clusters.

·         Technology in Manufacturing

This session will focus on  Internet of Things --application to manufacturing, 3D printing -- Practical applications and benefits, Green Manufacturing

·        Panel Discussion on Industrial employment

This session will focus on Organized vs un--organized sector, Direct vs contract labour and association concerns and issues, Sector wise analysis of employment (sectors which are important to TN), Education and preparing the workforce for the industry

·         Panel Discussion: Ease of doing business in TN

·         TN Manufacturing Panel Initiatives across Zones / Districts

The session will highlight the various activities done at the zone / district level and also the opportunities and challenges
