Harry pushes open a heavy wooden door and steps into a dimly lit room. He hears the door creak shut behind him and looks around. The room is large and empty, except for a single object in the center: a tall, ornate mirror with a gold frame and an inscription on top. Harry walks towards the mirror, curious to see what it shows. As he gets closer, he gasps in shock and wonder. In the mirror's reflection, he sees two figures standing behind him, smiling warmly. They are his parents, James and Lily Potter, who died when he was a baby.
Harry reaches out his hand, as if to touch the mirror. He feels a surge of longing and sadness. He has never seen his parents before, only in pictures. He wonders what they would say to him, what they would think of him. He wishes they were here with him, alive and real.

"Who are you?" a voice asks behind him. Harry whirls around and sees a man standing in the shadows. He has a long beard and a pointed hat. It is Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
"I'm Harry, sir. Harry Potter," Harry stammers, feeling guilty for being caught in the forbidden room.
"Ah, yes. I thought I might find you here," Dumbledore says, walking towards the mirror. "You have discovered the Mirror of Erised."
"The Mirror of Erised shows us nothing more or less than the deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts," Dumbledore explains. "You, who have never known your family, see them standing around you. But this mirror will give you neither knowledge nor truth. It does not show things as they are, or as they will be, but as they might have been."
"How did you know I was here?" Harry asks, still looking at his parents in the mirror.
"I don't need a cloak to become invisible," Dumbledore says, smiling. "And I have been keeping an eye on you, Harry. You have had a difficult year. You have faced many dangers and challenges. You have shown great courage and loyalty. But you have also shown great curiosity and recklessness. You have broken many rules and ventured into places you should not have. You have been drawn to this mirror, like a moth to a flame."
"No, Harry. You cannot stay here," Dumbledore says gently. "It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live. This mirror will only make you unhappy. It will show you things that can never be. It will tempt you with false hopes and illusions. It will consume you with longing and regret. You must leave it behind and face reality."
"But what if I can make them come true?" Harry asks, his eyes shining. "What if I can find a way to bring them back? To be with them again?"
"Harry, listen to me," Dumbledore says, his voice serious. "There is no way to bring back the dead. There is no magic that can do that. And even if there was, it would be wrong. It would be unnatural. It would be dangerous. You must accept the fact that your parents are gone. They loved you very much, and they would want you to be happy. They would want you to live your life, not waste it on a mirror."
