Hello, everyone! Just wanted to let y'all know that the SouthEast
LinuxFest (SELF) RFP is open:

http://www.southeastlinuxfest.org/rfp2013/form.html

Looks like the deadline is April 8th. (Full disclosure: I'm not
involved with planning for the conference; I attended last year's and
had a good time, including bringing a sousaphone to the Pg booth.
They've requested a return of both [the booth and the sousaphone]. ;)
)

Charlotte's a pretty town, it's an interesting hotel (for some values
of "interesting"), and Taste of Charlotte will be going on again
during the conference (at which this happened:
http://youtu.be/hDRPjdrpiLY ).

Also, while we're discussing conferences: OpenSourceBridge has
extended their CFP though Saturday:

http://opensourcebridge.org/blog/2013/03/were-extending-our-call-for-proposals/

and do we know yet if we're doing a booth for OSCON this year?

The SELF conference is June 7-9, 2013.

I was wondering the same thing.

Not sure. I'll be attending OSCON for the first time in several years.
Gabrielle, Selena, Theory, Mark: booth?

Good deal, one of us will take care of it.

Mark, if we're not having a pgDay, maybe we should do some kind of
PDXPUG evening thing while we have a bunch of folks in from out of town?

Maybe a combo with the BoF?

Yeah, I think folks here feel that we're competing with too much OSCON
extracurricular activities to have a successful pgDay. I think an
evening get together would be good. Were you thinking of something
more than just getting BOF?

Mark

I was thinking maybe doing a full-evening BOF plus PDXPUG people. Which
would probably require us to do it outside the convention center, and
serving beer.

Sounds good. We'll scope out some possible venues.
