Party Pedallers,
It's that time of year again when Mike McCann & I give short notice for our unsolicited social spin down some trails.
We are going to follow last year's format with the main event leaving the pass from the Dru Bru/Commonwealth parking lot at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 18th. Please come early to enjoy civilized socializing before departing downhill with a bunch of primitive cyclists.
Quick background: This ride originated as a wild endeavor to bike on gravel trails from Snoqualmie Pass to the Red Hook Brewery and evolved into a social gathering with the majority of pedallers stopping in North Bend. The majority have spoken through action and Mike & I grew tired/confused of riding to Woodinville while all others were enjoying the comforts of the Bar N Grill. The ride now ends in North Bend.
Here is the timeline:
- 12:30pm: Start gathering at Dru Bru/Commonwealth for a pre-ride beverage and needed fuel.
- 2:00pm: Leave Dru Bru/Commonwealth parking lot. We will bike down 906 to the Hyak trailhead to access the Iron Horse and then head west through the tunnel.
- 6:00pm: North Bend Bar N Grill
Please come equipped with a headlamp for the tunnel, proper clothing, and an abundance of liquids. If this is the first time you've heard of this unsanctioned activity and you're still interested, please contact me or somebody you know who has participated before for a better understanding of the event.
For those that want to ride uphill, please contact Mike & I. We will be leaving North Bend at 8:15am. We hit this start time last year but our group was still late getting up to the pass. The ride is not as fun uphill. We want to enjoy some pre-funk time at The Commonwealth & Dru Bru and will have to maintain a more disciplined schedule on the way up.
As always, please forward this to other friends/family/neighbors who may enjoy this non-traditional recreation outing.
Cheers,
Trevor
