How do I install 1.x and 2.x plugins on version 3.x

I want to try the EmailAuth x64 plugin on pGina 3 beta,
but I don't know how to get it to show on the plugin tab in pGina 3
beta.

I copied the EmailAuth x64 folder into the plugins folder, and even
used the Add button
to add the folder to the plugins directories.

I worked with both pGina 1.x and 2.x in the past, 3.x is obviously
new, so I understand
if its not working the way I want it to yet:
Q: Are the 1.x and 2.x plugins not compatable with version 3.x (yet)?

The only thing I could find was that the plugin backend is the same
for 1.x and 2.x and
plugins should work fine with either of those.....

3.x does not support previous version plugins. I'll update the FAQ accordingly.

Note that this decision was not made lightly, I will comment more in the FAQ posting.
