show form / dialog from within plugin

From a custom plugin I want to show a form/dialog. If I for instance use form.show in my code or messagebox.show it works while testing/simulating the plugin. When I test it for real e.g. logon using the pGina service I get an error (system.invalidoperation...)  while running the plugin.

Anyone successfully added a form or messagebox in their plugins????
