happy sunday peoples.

Sunday December 8th at 6pm
we will gather at Carlin's to plan conversations
around racism in Pittsburgh next year.
4904 Hatfield St. - 1 block off Butler in lawrencville
go left on 49th - right on hatfield blue house with attached garage.

it's a potluck people.

This is the end of our second year of monthly conversations around race in pittsburgh. over the last two years we've had many experiences - from crowds as large as 35 to as small as 6 - to having more of a multi-racial balance in participants - to being mostly white.

Currently the planning committee is multi-racial and has been REALLY AWESOME crew to work with- Anu, Lynne, Lizzie, Chris, Lauren, and me (etta) and i believe carlin helped out with one that i missed! and i missed some! so props for keeping it going everyone! And Love to the Bricolage Theatre! it's has been really amazing, accommodating and accessible space for us to be in! Thanks Tami D!

Today WAS SO satisfying - intimate, with each person being able to share their own family dynamics around race and holiday traditions. specifically with the settler colonialist holiday of thanksgiving. however - it was small. we want to make all the effort we put into planning these worthwhile by upping our scope and outreach.

We decided to cancel the salon that we were planning in December to use that time to plan for next year.
We talked about doing different things like not always having a "confronting racism in conversation be theme" but having movies or other possible scenarios. And also want to keep it sustainable for the planning crew.

What do you think? Do you want to plan with us. You are welcome. it doesn't mean you are signing up for a year commitment but a couple hours of brainstorming from themes and activities to outreach and potential collaboration with other organizations. and then you can decide if you want to be more involved or not...

Otherwise stay tuned to next year for our future efforts to create space in the steel city to dialogue about race.

love to the love love.
