Please tell me that people doing genetic engineering don't believe in
UFOs. Please please please.

Otherwise I'm going to have to change my opinion on engineered food
crops.

First off, I work in a Genetics Department doing *IT Management*. I
have no medical training, and I'm not going to be engineering tomatoes
with cow genes for extra protien anytime soon.

Secondly, why do people who have enough security clearance to maintain
nuclear weapons suddenly become unreliable witnesses when something of
UFO nature is spotted. Go to the site and read the eyewitness reports:

---

Maj. George A. Filer, III: US Air Force (ret.)

"At times I used to carry nuclear weapons. In other words, I was
mentally fit to carry nuclear weapons, but I'm not mentally fit if I see
a UFO. This criticism and this ridicule have done more to keep the
story coming out than almost anything else."

---

Here's a copy of the Executive Summary of this project with the Witness'
names revealed.

WARNING! 9.4 Meg download!

http://www.disclosureproject.org/execsummary/DisclosureProjectExecutiveSummary.doc

Here's an online version but the witness names are protected:

http://www.disclosureproject.org/execsummary/execsummarynonames.htm

It all started circa 1961 according to the document. Eisenhower warned
about the "millitary industrial complex" because he KNEW they were doing
things OUTSIDE OF HIS KNOWLEDGE and sphere of influence. No president
since then has been able to do anything about it. Now even the general
public feels it's okay to discount the testimony of these high-profile
government and millitary leaders as being hokey.

My theory (like there really need to be any more) is that our government
HAS encountered extraterrestrial technology, HAS reverse engineered it,
and HAS developed a few prototype devices which are projects with
clearance higher than "top secret". I believe they ARE flying them
around and I believe 99% of UFO sightings are because of this. I also
believe that IF there is such technology that taps into latent energy
which would potentially eliminate the need for using more fossil fuels,
that there MANY POWERFUL PEOPLE whose best interest would be to supress
this information.

What's the total combined value of all of the fossil fuel markets PLUS
the industries that make devices that use this fuel? I'd guess it's a
chunk of change that none of the CEO's and other people who control the
industry is willing to just hand over politely and admit defeat until
they've sucked the planet dry and have no other choice. I do believe
that the #1 priority of the whole UFO fiasco is to cover up any
extremely advanced projects for national security reasons (I'm sure most
other countries know already, though).

Do you REALLY think the Stealth Bomber is the pinnacle of scientific
achievement by our government? Slap some wacky angles on a plane's
design to reflect radar signals in many directions so the plane looks no
different than a flock of birds. C'mon, I or anybody with a limited
knowledge of the physics behind signal reflection (high school physics)
could have come up with that one and handed it off to a team of
aerodynamics experts who build and test planes for a living.

Read the evidence. If you want to dismiss the testimony of all of those
people, go ahead and do so, but at least acknowledge that there IS
something FISHY going on to say the least.

And on the other hand...

Wouldn't someone with an acute knowledge of the building blocks of life
and an advanced understanding of how the first protiens possibly began
forming on earth billions of years ago which led to life as we know it
tend to NOT acknowledge that the specific conditions for this to occur
IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE are ONLY right here on earth?

No human can even percieve the "nearly infinite" (or infinite - depends
who is right about dark matter) size of the universe, yet they can use
their feeble little FINITE minds to automatically proclaim that since
they've seen
.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001
(an estimate... most probably smaller in reality, esp. wrong if the
volume of the universe is UNBOUNDED, in which case percentages become
indeterminant) percent of the universe and they weren't bumping into
E.T. downtown at the Pens game that they must not exist in the rest of
the universe.

Apparantly, there is a whole worldwide collective group of Scientists
who tend to disagree and devote the majority of their lives toward
searching, knowing that they will most probably die without discovering
anything because of the sheer impossibility of canvassing the ENTIRE
universe within ANY person's lifetime.

This is not the primary goal of the genetics industry BTW. Most
research is on locating specific diseases in the genome, and using
genomics data to determine genetic suceptiblity for adverse drug
reactions and modifying the drugs to work around what they find.

I have a little knowledge of the building blocks of life myself. Using
this knowledge I am able to hypothesize the existance of people on the
other side of the world - let's call them Chinese.

This does not lead me to believe that the Chinese mutilate cattle or
abduct people for experiments.

Extrapolate this to the rest of the galaxy.

I have no problem with other planets containing sentient life. My
problem is believing that they ever come to visit.

DNA is a common theme of all life that we are aware of, not just humans
BTW. Your knowledge lets you hypothesize that all life on this planet
has a common origin. The simplest bacteria have DNA which is no less
remarkable than a human's. Humans, unfortunately, tend to think that
they are the only remarkable thing out there... A common error.

Most people realize that claiming that similar conditions for the
formation of these life protiens elsewhere inside the vastness of the
universe as being impossible understand that claiming so is contrary to
the obvious existance of life as we know it.

What exactly are you basing your assumption that we are the only life in
the universe on that allows you to bypass proving your hypotheisis? You
have a "given" in your argument somewhere that doesn't jive with
scientific method.

Maybe you missed this part:

I've read compelling arguments for life on other planets. I support the
SETI project.

Scientific method requires a testable hypothesis - maybe not testable
today but testable. UFO stories are not testable. If I enlist the IRA to
capture the base at Area 51 and find nothing then I'll hear that
everything was moved before I got there. If I get the gov't to admit
that they were testing saucer shaped craft that were classified until
now and get 16mm tapes of the test flights then I'll hear that the gov't
is covering up.

There is no way to prove the non-existance of anything.

However the burden of proof is not on the skeptics. If you believe that
flying unicorns exist the show me one.

Your experts mean absolutely nothing to me. Show me something that could
not be faked by a human and I'll believe.

If you had watched the Disclosure Project press conference you would
have seen the testimony of a retired millitary expert willing to testify
to congress that we have documented knowledge of over 50 species of
extraterrestrial humanoid. (Why they are humanoid, I'm personally
stumped.)

PLEASE WATCH THE PRESS CONFERENCE! Skip to about 14 minutes in on the
first clip to get past the intro stuff. Let us know what you think. I
can't really have a discussion about this with anyone who hasn't seen
the video. I'm even having trouble digesting the implications.

http://www.connectlive.com/events/disclosureproject/

I know it all sounds far fetched, but I was 100% sceptical of UFO
phenomena being a scientist, and passed it off as the US covering up
millitary craft or something... up until about 2 weeks ago, that is. If
what these 400 or so witnesses claim is true, it was not only that but
some other astounding information that they were covering up. I find it
hard to beleive that the doctors and lawyers who are standing behind
this project would risk losing their professional licenses by
perpetrating a fraud on the general public.

This is for REAL from what I can tell. They want congress to get
involved. They want YOU to get in contact with your congressional
represenatives and tell them you'd like to see the UFO matter looked
into in a truthful and open manner.

Why exactly? There is no logical reasoning that leads me to allow the
existance of ET life, but only if they are stationary. Am I missing
something, here?

Area 51 has been moved anyway... And it isn't the only place where ET
based technology is/was being developed/tested.

The disclosure project is pushing for declassification that you speak
of. If you would just watch the video, I wouldn't have to argue this to
you. THey WANT for a governmental agency to look into these "deep
black" projects. Jimmy Carter tried to question these projects when he
was president and was DENIED ACCESS. Period. THat's the level of
secrecy we're talking about here.

If you watch the press conference, you'll begin to understand the
mechanism that keeps the general public from finding out what exactly is
going on.

"I want the direct evidence for their existence; I want the aliens
themselves. I don't want to hear stories about some "thing" that some
person somewhere might have seen."

The disclosure project has interviewed several witnesses who have been
at UFO crash scenes and contact sites and gathered data and evidence
only to have it disappear when they sent it off with an arranged courier
and never arrive at it's intended destination. These witnesses have
agreed to testify in front of congress.

This isn't a UFO convention, it's a concerted effort to bring to the
public's attention that our government is employing no-fuel energy
sources in deep black projects that were reverse engineered from ET
craft, that if declassified, would SOLVE the looming energy crisis and
eliminate pollution, and probably other things such as world hunger, and
reduce the need for geopolitical systems that feed off of the problems
caused by fighting over our obviously limited natural resources.

If so, what would be the point. I trust the evidence of my own senses,
people I know personally, and know skeptics in decreasing order of
trust.

A web video of strangers talking could not possibly convince me of
anything.

I think the tarot card readers advertising on late night TV are fake
too. Your experts should not take it personally.

I have seen UFOs. I can't prove who made them, where they came from, or
who was behind the controls. Are we to believe that the same government
who can't keep Osprey helicopters from crashing are responsible for the
things that we have seen?

My theory on that matter is that as life evolves, there are certain
features that are advantageous and would be under most any
circumstances.

Binocular vision is a must for any species to develop advanced
technology. Without binocular vision it wouldn't be possible to
manipulate (let alone build) tools. Bilateral symmetry allows for
balance and ties into bipedal locomotion. Bipedal locomotion is the
simplest way to make sure that an organism is always in contact with the
ground through the stride, sure cheetahs are faster than we are, but
lets see them carry a spear on a hunt. As for the shape and composition
of hands and feet, I am stumped.

Without getting into the specifics of this argument, I have to say I
respectfully disagree. One merely needs to suppose that the "something"
exists, then show that its existence leads to a contradiction. Thence
tither, it can't exist. But again, I'm criticizing only the logic of the

The statement was "There is no way to prove the non-existance of anything."
And that is false. There are ways to prove the non-existence of some
things. If there were a way to prove the nonexistence of one thing, that
would be sufficient to show that the statement is not true. I wrote that
I'm not dismissing the argument based on the variables, but that using the
statement quoted above is faulty logic. I don't know enough about UFO's to

where? And did you report the sighting on any non-govt UFO sighting
network?

So just because you don't know someone you can't trust them? HOw do you
believe ANYTHING you hear in the news or read in the papers? Are they
ALL lies?

So if you KNOW someone, and they tell you a lie you believe them anyway?

And just because you don't personally know anybody working in any black
projects they don't exist in reality? SO anything that the government
systematically denies and covers up evidence of doesn't exist?

Watergate didn't exist until the exact moment the story broke wide open,
eh? Get real.

These people testifying might not be well known to you personally, but
they are working on the INSIDE with CRYPTO and higher level security
clearance. One man testifying apparantly was almost a part of a "deep
black" project but got out (I've been hoping every day that he is in a
safe location presently).

This video is NOT made up. It was filmed at the NATIONAL PRESS CLUB on
May 9th of this year. Members of EVERY major TV network were there.
There WAS limited coverage on the nightly news. It was on CNN headline
news, also.

A few media links:

http://www.msnbc.com/local/wrc/nbcsuohakmc.asp
http://www.msnbc.com/local/fdddov/m42626.asp

Here's a link to a list of more links to media coverage:

http://disclosureproject.org/newsarticles.htm

The archive of the webcast was reportedly attempted to be jammed by
unknown sources:

http://www.disclosureproject.org/webcastmoreinfo.htm

This isn't a joke or a hoax. It's real, and the implications are
terrifying.

The people involved have PHD's and other professional degrees. I DOUBT
that you could find a group of about 400 professionals willing to
perpetrate a HOAX in exchange for never being able to get a job in their
respective fields again.

WATCH the video! I'm not responding to any more of your messages until
you've watched it... then I want to see if you tell me all of those
people were lying.

I don't believe Tarot either. I don't believe in Horoscopes, Divining
Rods, or any human opinion of what God is...

I don't believe in an afterlife, a beforelife, medevial alchemy, good
luck/bad luck, fortune telling, etc...

I also don't believe things just because they are on the news, or just
because someone says to believe.

...and never will.

...But I believe these witnesses after watching them summarize their
testimonies...

I'm not telling you to believe... Only to WATCH THE VIDEO!

EVERYONE GIVES AN EMAIL IN THEIR POST! NOBODY RESPONDS TO EMAIL
ADDRESSES BY USENET *AND* EMAIL. YOU ARE USING TWICE THE BANDWIDTH YOU
NEED BY DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING. YOU ARE SENDING TWO SEPERATE BATCHES
OF DATA ACROSS THE NET CONTAINING THE SAME DATA FOR EACH POST (EVEN MORE
IF EVERYBODY ON THE THREAD GETS AN EMAIL).

PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE THE REASON THE NET JUST KEEPS GETTING SLOWER AND
LAGGED.

I CHECK MY USENET POSTS AND RESPONSES TO THOSE POSTS *ON USENET*, NOT IN
MY EMAIL ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VERIZON ALSO HAS A "BANDWIDTH RESPECT" POLICY THAT I WILL BRING TO THEIR
ATTENTION.

LOOK UP AT THE ADDRESSES YOU ARE SENDING TO! IT SHOULD NOT HAVE
ANYBODIES EMAIL ADDRESS IN IT!! YOU SHOULD ONLY SEE pgh.opinion!!! NO
EMAIL ADDRESSES!!!!!

YOUR NEWS READER IS CONFIGURED IMPROPERLY! I'VE BEEN ON USENET 7+ YEARS
AND NOBODY HAS GIVEN ME TROUBLE LIKE YOU ARE!!!!

NOBODY!

IF YOU RESPOND TO THIS AND YOU DON'T TAKE OUT MY EMAIL ADDRESS FROM THE
SEND TO: FIELD, I WILL FOLLOW THROUGH WITH CONTACING YOUR ISP. MAYBE
THEY CAN TELL YOU HOW TO CONFIGURE YOUR DAMN NEWSREADER CORRECTLY, OR
BETTER YET, ADVISE YOU TO STOP POSTING ON USENET IF YOU ARE UNWILLING TO
RESPECT USENET GUIDELINES.

I REPEAT:

NOBODY ELSE ON THIS NG SENDS ME EMAILS WITH EACH RESPONSE! THEIR
READERS ARE EITHER CONFIGURED CORRECTLY, OR THEY HAD THE DECENCY TO
REMOVE EMAIL ADDRESSES FROM THE SEND
FIELD BEFORE ACTUALLY HITTING "SEND". WHAT NICE GUYS/GALS!

IN OTHER WORDS: FIX IT, OR STOP REPLYING TO ANY OF MY POSTS ALTOGETHER
(INCLUDING THIS ONE)!

Please do not send newsgroup responses to my personal email account.

Thank you in advance (hopefully not too damn far in advance).

Although I have enjoyed your postings for years you are still just text
on a video monitor to me. What you have seen or not seen is not
sufficient proof to me.

I watched some of the video until my connection to the website went
down. I couldn't skip the first 15 minutes so I had to watch the
beginning.

As expected it was a bunch of people that I don't know talking. They
said who they were but I have no way of verifying it. They talked about
stuff that they saw and again I have no way of verifying it. They said
what their jobs were and what their educational credentials were and I
have no way of verifying it.

Big deal.

If I know someone I can better evaluate on the basis of past experience
with that person whether they are likely to lie to me, make up a big
story for the humor potential, or to be taken in by someone else's lies.

Now are you going to spell check this posting, too?

I can't prove what they were. I only know what they were not.

yo! homey! -
get a grip -
the reason the net i slowing own is that there are now over 150 million
users (in the US alone) + Probably 2 to 4 times that internationally

it has very little to do with one person sending a small bit of text to
a newsgroup AND a specific user.

If you do not want to receive email from people getting your email
address from newsgroups - I suggest that you "configure your newsgroup
reader" so that it does not display a valid email address.
(see my information)

I would believe that you probably receive more spam from posting your
valid email in the newsgroups than this individual could *EVER* send you.

That said .......
the person sending email that you do not like *SHOULD* stop after being asked.

Alright, fine.

There is no need for me to waste my time convincing you. There will be
undeniable evidence presented soon giving insight into UFO phenomenon
that not even you will be able deny.

I give up.

As I have stated numerous times, I have seen UFOs that have defied
explanation as any known human produced type of aviation or aeronautical
vehicle in existence. I have talked to abducts. In fact, I have shared
some experiences in common with some abducted. It is obvious that some
of the craft that have been seen are beyond the technology that our
military has at its disposal today and is likely to for at least a
generation.

I will keep my experiences to myself, for now.

There has never been a question in my mind about the origin of these
things.
