Requirements Under direct supervision of a senior professional, interns will prepare simple evaluations, reports, designs and/or calculations for moderately complex projects related to one or more of: environmental assessment and remediation of contaminated sites; industrial facility compliance; groundwater resource assessment and modeling; building investigation and mitigation; industrial hygiene; environmental planning and permitting; risk analysis and assessment; solid waste management; environmental data management; and geographic information systems (GIS). Interns will also perform routine, well-defined, field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and analysis under direct supervision. They will conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, laboratory testing, analysis and technical support under supervision. Interns will write field reports, internal correspondence and sections of formal reports and proposals. They will also coordinate small projects with on-going review and interaction by senior operations/technical staff. Education We ask that students pursue a Bachelors or Graduate degree in engineering, geology or other related environmental sciences. The ideal candidate will have a strong, technical background in geology or engineering, the ability to provide technical support on projects and good writing skills. Candidates that have the OSHA 40HR HAZWOPER training are preferred for Environmental Internship positions. Engineering-in-Training (EIT) licenses are also a plus.
