COMMENTS: AGI Computer Consulting is recruiting for a large Service
company in search of a PC Hardware/Software support person.
The position (Contract) would be located in Johnstown, PA and
would last for at least 3 months with a possibility for a long
term assignment.
The following requirements are for a Hardware/Software (HW/SW)
support person to work in the company's Network Services area.
Candidate should have a strong background in PC operation and
maintenance.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The primary SW operating systems include OS/2 2.11 and OS/2
WARP; WINDOWS 3.1, WINDOWS FOR WORKGROUPS and WINDOWS 95. An
understanding and working knowledge in some or all of the
operating systems would be beneficial. PC SW applications are
primarily WINDOWS and LOTUS products.
The primary HW manufacturers include IBM, Dell, Compaq and HP
Printers. Most are network attached via the IBM Token Ring
platform which includes 386 and 486> processors either in a
desktop or laptop version.

HW/SW TECHNICAL SUPPORT:
Technical comptencies to support the operating company's
computer HW/SW. Specifically, insure that all new
installations, existing HW/SW is loaded and operates properly.
It includes SW configurations of HW via CID or diskette loads,
SW license validation, and installation of clients equipment.
HW/SW PROBLEM RESOLUTION:
Troubleshoot and resolve all HW/SW problems on the users
devices within the operating company. Service is to be
restored as quickly and effectively as possible so that the
outage incurred by a client is minimized.
HW/SW ADMINISTRATION & DOCUMENTATION SUPPORT:
Operational support for the company's computer HW/SW. Entails
receipt and inventory of HW/SW, moves, and licensing of
software applications. Insure that all HW/SW is accurately
documented in the Company's HW/SW mainframe system.
