Job Description Primary Responsibilities: MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance) -Performs and manages strategic / Tactical purchasing activities by project. -Defines, implements, and constantly reviews purchasing strategies with the goal to optimize sourcing decisions from a Total-cost-of-Ownership perspective. -Is responsible to secure a maximum profit contribution from purchasing for his/her project. Global sourcing to establish a competitive supply base for projects. Market observation for opportunities for supplier and/or material substitution. -Develop supplier, price, and technology road maps for Procurement in conjunction with Engineers/program teams. Special focus on emerging procurement markets. -Supplier Management and development (selection, evaluation, continuous improvement) in conjunction with cross-functional partners (i.e. logistics, engineering, quality) to optimize supplier and supply chain performance. -Lead cross-functional team establishing improvement plans based on supplier evaluation results jointly with suppliers. Proficient in use of SAP. Participate and contribute to department K Pis (key performance indicators) -Support project procurement with tactical buying responsibilities in an SAP system. -Other procurement tasks as assigned.
Required Skills: *Bachelors Degree *2-5 Years related work experience *Participates in the preparation and maintenance of basic reports; analyzes supplier capability; participates in make/buy studies and cost analyses. *Participates in creating integrated project plans and schedules for the projects. Participates in the effectiveness evaluation of current material control standards. *Supports the planning and coordination of new projects; assess the impact and support changes to overall project schedules. *Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Problem solves complex, unusual problems with team work. *Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of supply chain and applies through successful completion of assignments. Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of supply chain management. *Successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. *Advanced degree a plus
