But a guy strongly favoring Dan Marino was, down to the Hawaiian Tropic
tan.

I have fallen in love with AirTran's Boeing 717. They were a vast
improvement over the CRJ. The wifi service is faster than cablenet.

Metro:
Just because the MetroCard reader stares you in the face when entering
the B30/"Not in Service" bus doesn't mean they take it. Buying a day
pass, thinking they would, was a booboo. Not having small bills, while
thinking my phone was still on central time, was another.

Not believing that the "Not in Service" bus was really the bus to the
Greenbelt station, until the B30 bus skipped our stop, meant I got to
stand through that leg of the trip. Metro Service on Saturday is
obviously inadequate, as were escalators, which didn't work, on what
may be the deepest subway system in the world.

General:
Packed like sardines applied to the Metro and to the crowd on the Mall.
I'd had a different impression of the Fox News crowd and imagined
sitting on my chair with my legs stretched, au contraire. You couldn't
stir us with a stick.

Is there a wave function which applies to thousands of people climbing
stairs with two people on every step? A ripple almost took my balance.
Is there a mechanical issue with escalator operation under such
conditions?

People were very nice. Even such perennial frenemies as the students of
WVU and Maryland were considerate and helpful. The latter were
especially helpful with finding a restaurant at the Prince William Mall,
as a side trip from the Metro ride. It was an Outback rather than Olive
Garden, as they thought. The Shrimp on the Barbie and side salad hit the
spot.

My Pitt hoodie got me a warm greeting from a guy from Brookline. There
seemed to be a dearth of folks from the 'Burgh compared to the WVU. Too
bad Rocket City folk didn't have sweatshirts.

There was a strong Libertarian contingent opposing the War on Drugs.

A guy in a panda suit climbed a tree across 7th Street about midway
through. I have no idea how he grasped the tree.

Thank goodness for the portable McDonalds snugged up against the
National Air and Space Museum. They had the logistics to serve us while
many concessionaires were done in the first scheduled hour. I found it
just in time. The line tripled behind me.

Has something happened to Hot Shoppes? They were everywhere once. I
never saw one. A dozen Dunkin Donuts, slipped into my pack, survived the
trip nicely. (Pumpkin, glazed chocolate cake, blueberry cake and
strawberry iced with sprinkles)

A good time was had by all.

I even pitched job search in Rocket City twice. One guy knew more that I
ever will about the founding of Intergraph. Army acquisition and Missile
Defense are consolidating here BTW.
