There will be a contra dance in Pittsburgh this Friday, Oct. 9, at Swisshelm Park Community Center featuring the caller, Joseph Pimentel, and the band,Goldcrest, from 8-11PM.

An introductory lesson begins at 7:30PM and will be taught by the caller.

Cost of the contra dance is $10/$7 for students.

Feel free to bring a snack to share at the break.

Joseph Pimentel is currently living in the Washington, DC area.  He is a popular caller nationwide who combines clear teaching and discriminating taste!  Goldcrest is 3 seasoned musicians of national reputation, steeped in the folk dance traditions of Appalachia, New England and the British Isles.  Fiddler Daron Douglas, pianist Dave Wiesler and multi-instrumentalist Paul Oorts produce dance music of exceptional quality and unsurpassed variety.  They will all be playing & calling for English County dancing on Sat. & Sun. as well.
