pgFocus sensor will be end of life (EOL)

I recently got an email that the vendor who manufacturers the linear light array has issued an EOL for the sensor.

They will accept orders up until June 30th. 

Either can I redesign pgFocus to use another sensor or stock up on these sensors. I haven't really looked into an alternative sensor yet. pgFocus is just a hobby, so I am not likely to order a few hundred just to keep on hand.
