Greetings from the Nepal Geotechnical Society (NGS)!
It is with great pleasure that I write to you on behalf of the Organising Committee of GeoMandu 2027 organised jointly with the 11th Asian Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference (11th AYGEC) under ISSMGE and the 1st South Asian Conference on Geotechnics (1st SACG) under the Association of Geotechnical Societies of South Asia (AGSSA), to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from March 17–19, 2027.
The 1st SACG is a historic milestone for the geotechnical community of South Asia, a dedicated platform to address the unique and shared geotechnical challenges of our region, from Himalayan slope stability and earthquake hazards to infrastructure development and climate resilience.
In this regard, we would like to extend the following invitations:
1. CALL FOR PAPERS
We warmly invite researchers, academics, and practitioners from Pakistan to submit abstracts and papers for the 1st SACG. The abstract submission deadline is March 31, 2025. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Mountain and Himalayan geotechnics
- Geotechnical earthquake engineering
- Landslides and slope stability
- Foundation engineering and ground improvement
- Geoenvironmental engineering
- Infrastructure geotechnics

2. INVITATION TO THE ADVISORY PANEL
We would be greatly honoured to invite you, as President of , to serve on the Advisory Panel of the 1st SACG. Your leadership and regional experience will be invaluable in shaping the direction and vision of this conference.
3. INVITATION TO THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE
We also warmly invite you to nominate suitable representatives from to serve on the Scientific Committee of the 1st SACG, contributing to the technical review and programme development of the conference.
