Hi All,

This is Srivas, TR for Tower S reporting!!! Wish you all a fantastic day!!!

Please find a couple of updates regarding Game Stalls at the Carnival on 25 Jan 2015.

  1. Size of Stall - 7 ft by 7 ft
  2. Components Provided - 2 Tables and 2 Chairs
  3. Charge per Stall - Rs. 600/-
    • (considering Rs.750 to be expensive and the provisions being made, the charges were reduced by Rs. 150/- based on feedback and discussion with a few children and parents)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. Children/parents are requested to make appropriate "props" arrangement by coming in early on the day of the carnival to prevent last minute glitches
  2. A number of children have already expressed interest in having game stalls, shall be providing a list below. More children are encouraged to participate. Do note that friends from school/college/training institutes are welcome to join resident children of the society in taking stalls and having multiple games per stall
  3. We are planning to restrict the number of games per stall as the "Game Masters" MUST normally match the number of games being played. Each Game needs at least ONE game master to handle and get the game played
  4. Preferable number of Games per stall is a maximum of 4, considering the space and number of Game Masters taking up stalls
  5. Children are encouraged to come to location in advance and plan their setup as per available equipment
  6. Parents of participating children (as stall owners and game masters) are requested to ensure hand over of Stall charges to the organizers, latest by day end 21 Jan. Ashim Sinha and Srivas M K shall be handling the collection and orientation for the children that have decided to set up Game stalls. Innovative thoughts are welcome!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, a few words to share about my meeting with a flock of children that expressed interest in setting up game stalls:
  • I reached society club house at around 6:30 pm on 19 Jan 2015
  • I was pleasantly surprised to note that there was a group of around 15-18 kids patiently waiting near the club house entrance for "someone" that was going to "collect money" for the stalls!
  • It took me some time to set up my laptop, explain a couple of things about the stalls to all the excited bundles of energy..wow.. that was a one task..
  • Once I had done with the explanation, it was my turn to listen and I was having a hard time already.. all of them were eager to speak and that resulted in me being unable to comprehend so many of them speaking at once.. a truly "charging" experience.. All of us adults should spend some time with a group of eager kids at least once a week!!! we could start with our own.. and I mean truly spend time listening to them.. not lecturing them!!!!
  • With a little effort and a deep throwback to my class room teaching days, I was finally able to prepare a data file that provides the names of children, the flats they reside in, the games they plan to set up in their respective game stalls. Shall share that at the end of this mail
  • I was told that the group of children had actually been waiting for this "Uncle" from close to 6 PM.. Sorry Kids.. the Uncle got late!!! am truly sorry about that..
  • I was also told that the group was assembled by an enthusiastic volunteer, Tanishk Sinha, T 801.. thanks Tanishk, thanks a lot..Keep up the energy and am sure it will take you places!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the data I have collected so far:

# Game Name Organiser Flat Number
1 Lucky Seven, Rok Sako to Rok lo Tanishq and Savi T 801/S 101
2 Lucky Draw, Find the ball Bhavi and Manya M 1501
3 Paint Ball, Bull's Eye, Mind Games Shivansh, Parth, Kshitij C 903
4 Bangles, Glass Ball Parshvi, Raghav J 1002
5 Chinese Gem Rajvardhan G 101
7 Hit the wicket, Carrom Kushal & Abhishek Q 503/E 203
8 To be decided Siddharth F 103
9 To be decided Arindam, Harshit G 701/E 102
10 To be decided Pulkit S 501

As mentioned above, we would like to have more children participating in setting up stalls. We shall be happy to share possible game ideas so there are lesser repeats. As of 22 Jan 2015, we shall finalise the list. If some names appear here and the parents/Children would like to withdraw, pleased do let us know. Thanks.

regards
Team TR
