Subject: Applications for WJC Fellowship

Dear All,

Greetings!

We had a wonderful pre-placement talk by American India Foundation(AIF) on 23rd January 2013 at IIPH-Delhi for the WJC Fellowship. The organization is offering a wonderful opportunity to those, seeking an exposure in the domain of public health for a duration of 10 months, with a possibility of further extension, depending upon the project and also the candidates performance.  Attached is the WJC Fellowship opportunity information brief.

This is a wonderful opportunity for those seeking a challenging profile in public health and related areas. During our initial discussion with AIF, we understood that the organization is in need of public health graduates and they find the IIPH students a fit for their requirements, provided they apply with relevant details. Since the schedule of recruitment and joining also matches the IIPH schedule of final placements,  I would like to request you all to kindly encourage the students to apply for the fellowships, as per the application process. Please note that once submitted, the application can not be edited further, thus the applicant need to prepare all the points well before proceeding with the final submission of the application.  The following is a brief information which  may be shared with the students. The same has been shared by me before.

Remuneration: The selected candidates will be at the payroll of American India Foundation(AIF), and will be placed at the partner organizations. During the fellowship of 10 months duration, a remuneration of Rs 28,000/- per month will be paid to the fellows. The placement as fellows will begin from September 2013 onwards.

The fellowship has a further possibility of extension, depending upon the project requirements. Further, during the fellowship, the fellows can also explore other opportunities in the partner organization, suitable to them, which they would like to join after the completion of fellowship. The performance of the fellows during their tenure is a vital criteria for the partner organization to recruit them in various appointments in public health disciplines.

What does the fellowship cover apart from Remuneration :

1.       Return tickets (to and fro) from your home town to New Delhi and New Delhi to the location of posting.

2.       Boarding and Lodging for 7 days in New Delhi for the initial orientation program.

3.       Medical Insurance

4.       Mobile handset

5.       Upto 2 weeks housing arrangement by the host organization, such that the fellows can settle down and arrange for their accommodation within two weeks.

6.       In case, the housing accommodation after 2 weeks requires brokerage and/or refundable deposits,  AIF makes payment for the same.

7.       Expenses related to travel during the fellowship, related to project work will be taken care of.

Documents required for application: Resume, Cover letter, 2 Recommendation letters, Application Form.
