Per Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India guidelines, NPTEL has initiated the process of translating the English transcripts of NPTEL video content. For now, we are planning to translate NPTEL content into 8 regional languages - Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu.
We are happy to invite you to this process to participate as a Translator.
Those interested in translation can fill out the Google form for the same on/before 11th May 2020.

Please submit the translated document in the same form. Our team will review (i.e. conduct quality check of) the translated doc provided by you. Final work allotment will depend on factors such as quality of the test sample, whether requirements were met in a specific language, logistical constraints, if any, due to the present circumstances, etc. We estimate that translation of one hour of video content will take approximately 12 hours. will have max of 3 page content which can be translated in 2 hours.Task of translationIf selected for the task, the translator will be provided with the English transcripts. The translator will have to complete a translation of 5 hours of lectures assigned to them in a time-bound manner with strict adherence to high quality. The translated files will be accepted as final only if it passes the quality control checks in place. The decision of the quality control team will be final in this regard.If the translation is accepted after quality checks, the following recognitions will be given to the translator:1. An honorarium of Rs. 2500 per 1 hour of video content will be paid after all 5 files are submitted to our satisfaction.
2. A certificate (e-certificate) of recognition will be issued.
3. The translator's name and affiliation will be mentioned on our website.We immensely appreciate your help in this process. But we also request that you submit the files within the stipulated time. MHRD is monitoring and mandating the completion of translation within deadlines. We will be sharing the translator name and organization and progress twice a week to MHRD.Points to note: 1. The sample lecture provided may be irrespective of your discipline. After getting shortlisted, you will be receiving content relevant to your discipline.2. We will consider only the translated content submitted within the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.3. The decision of the quality control team will be final.4.
