Hello,

I have a cluster postgres with 3 nodes ( 1 master and 2 slave) using patroni.
When I change the configuration from a simple replica to sync-standby the backup made by barman is much slower.

Do you think the issue I have with barman is related to sync-standby

Thank you for your help!

Angelo

Hello,

We need more information to debug this.

- Which kind of backups are you taking? rsync or postgres?
- Are you streaming the WALs or using archive_command, and from which node (primary, sync standby or async standby)?
- What is the motivation for moving the backup source node from an async node to a sync node?
- Does the sync standby have more load, as in having application process targeting the node?
