Hi,

I am coping with a peculiar problem with the configuration of Barman. I tried to configure Barman as described in the documentation and then run barman check command which says:

Server main:
ssh: OK
PostgreSQL: OK
archive_mode: OK
archive_command: OK
directories: FAILED (Permission denied)
compression settings: OK

I assume that I have some directory permissions set up wrong. But what directories? Could you please give me a hint. Thank you very much in advance.

T.T.

This happens when the directories where Barman needs to store files, do
not exist and cannot be created.

I was wondering if you followed the "Pre-requisites" section in the
documentation: http://docs.pgbarman.org/#_prerequisites

You can get a list of directories used by a specific server in Barman
through the "barman show-server" command.

This will return the list of directories that barman looks for,
according to the configuration file.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Gabriele

Thanks for such a fast reply!

I have controlled everything and think what, I have made a mistake in forgetting to set up the permissions
to barman_home directory <after> mounting a volume for the backup data on it!

Now everything is working :).
