Hi,

The docs for 1.6 mention additional steps required to apply the .partial file during recovery when using WAL streaming: http://docs.pgbarman.org/release/1.6.0/#limitations-of-partial-wal-files-with-recovery

I don't see this section in the 2.0 / 2.1 docs. Are these steps still required?

Thanks,
Nick Barnes

Hi Nick,

thanks for pointing it out. That's definitely a bug. I have opened an issue: https://github.com/2ndquadrant-it/barman/issues/79

Gabriele

Thanks, Gabriele!

In that case, I have a follow-up question: Do you guys have an idea of how you want to address this limitation?

I'm going to need to deal with this anyway, so if it's something I could contribute, that would be ideal.

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Gabriele,

could you share how you and your team intend to fix this issue? This does not seem like a documentation issue to me. In my opinion this could easily be part of the Barman restore procedure in order to ease the usage of Barman and put a focus on RPO.

Let me know if I can be of any help in the process.

Thanks,
Dennis

but I still haven't investigated where to intervene in the code.

I think every patch is welcome.
